I'm just a regular guy with an irregular knife collection. I only had a handful when I was a teenager back in the 1980s, but I picked up a few more here and there while in college and shortly afterward...and they all stayed in boxes, forgotten, for decades. Occasionally I would get a new one, but it wasn't yet a collection - I had maybe twenty knives at most, and many of them were gas-station or flea-market crap.
Fast forward to 2020 and the pandemic, when I bought one knife...and then 2021, when I bought one more. Still not a collection. But then came 2022 and I spontaneously figured out that while all the old knife stores (I'm remembering you, Remington) and mail-order catalogs (and you, Parker Cutlery) were long gone, one could still browse and buy knives at big-box stores like REI and Dick's Sporting Goods and Academy Sports...and online. The madness well and truly started then, and for better or for worse it hasn't stopped since.
By 2026, I owned more than 300 knives (plus a few dozen other assorted weapons) and realized that the time had come to share them on a website. And here we are. I like simple, easily-navigated formats so here you go.
This is the non-automatic version of the knife in post 257. It has a flipper-type opening mechanism as you can see in the video. After that previous post, I started looking around online and found this one for sale so I snapped it up.
To recap from before, Les is based in Florida and makes all of his knives himself in his own shop; this model comes in automatic and flipper versions. Both have carbon fiber scales and 3.375" blades of 154CM steel, and both are serial numbered with extremely limited production.
This thing is built like a tank, with dense carbon fiber scales and a thick, sturdy blade. I'm very happy with this knife and I wish I had bought a couple more to give to friends as gifts. If you like what you see, be aware that you can only find Les at a couple of shows every year, and his knives sell out pretty quickly.
